Lydia--well, I picture an old gypsy for this one. It's not a bad name. It's just what I picture. I wouldn't mind naming a character this; it's an interesting name nonetheless.

Jasper--I instantly remember Twilight. Because of that, the name isn't as charming to me as before, but it's still a good name.

Matteo--I've always spelled it this way, I don't know about you--I like this name a lot. I think one of my characters is named Matteo. This is a great name.

Malachi--I don't like this one much. I can appreciate the fact it's not a common name, but that's all I can really do. I like the first three more than this one.

Lydia is great. Jasper is nice...but reminds me of something silly..not sure what.

Malachi is one of my least favorite names in the world.

Matteo is better than Mateo...but I still don't like the name.

Of all four, I like Lydia the best.

    Good Luck.

It's definitely MATTEO with two T's. I've never ever seen it spelled Mateo. It is Italian.

My son's name will be Matteo Anthony so I'm obviously partial to Matteo :-)

Will your son be Italian?becuase that is what will be assumed with Matteo., that is something you want to think about, too.

I also really like Malachi, but it has such a strong Biblical root, which can be good and bad when growing up unfortunately.

    I've always really liked Malachi.

Lydia is very pretty too. It's not very common anymore either.

Jasper - well, I have a cat named Jasper.

Mateo - sort of ok...but not a favorite.

All four are gorgeous and personal favorites of mine. Matteo, spelled this way, has been trying to become my favorite name for a while now.

    Lovely, lovely names.

ETA: In my personal opinion, I do think Matteo is "better" than Mateo, which looks incomplete to me. But, both are legit, so whichever one you go with is okay.

  • Lydia and Mateo are nice.

    Lydia is cool.

I don't like the others though...unless it's for a characters in a story, then the names would be ncie. But names for human beings, I wouldn't choose any (except Lydia)

honestly- mateo isnt bad but they soun dlike amish kids names or some other strange religion where the children are like children of the corn and possessed. def malachi sounds like that. that was just the first impression i got with these names- children of the corn.

sorry i couldnt be more positive-

good luck and congrats if pregger!
