That wasn't the real Sawyer who killed his parents. He meats the real one later on in the show. That guy was someone who the guy that gave Sawyer the picture of that guy, wanted killed. So he told Sawyer that, so he'd kill him.
Also Locke's dad is the real Sawyer who killed Sawyer's parents. He went by Tom Sawyer back then. It's interesting when they meet on the island. (Locke's dad and Sawyer) Just wait and see!
