hey, people. school standards question for you; kinda boring but please answer? thanks in advance:)?

Our school got a new superintendant, new principal, new classes, etc. they're not working so well, especially for me and the people in my classes last year. we were all in three or four core subjects together because of our standardized test scores and the classes were a little more extensive and interesting than our regular classes. Plus, everyone kept on track and the teacher didn't need to stop every other second to yell at us to shut our mouths. Anyway, now they've mixed up all of us, added new teachers who don't have a clue what they're doing and told teachers to dumb it down for the kids who didn't do so well on the tests last year. apparently, just being with a different group of kids will stimulate their minds. it may take a few years, but they really don't care. Btw, there's no IB program or AP classes for us this year. My dad is kind of freaking out because he's afraid we'll screw up our tests this year and be behind at the end of high school. I'm looking for a website or a tutoring system that could give me some more challenging assignments. i'm not actually that into websites. i prefer someone to whom i can ask questions and interact with to brainstorm and work. Any suggestions? btw, i know i probably sound stuck up and like one of those snobby rich kids who's afraid of not getting into Harvard but i really just want something challenging and that shows a good result at the end. Did you know that the Ivy League started as a football conference? sorry, that was random. also, do you have any idea where a sophomore-junior should be at the end of the year in all her subjects? i'm taking pre-calc, chem, Latin II, Spanish II, drivers' ed, English and health and consumer ed. next semester. like i said, thanks in advance!!

:)

Welcome to the world of lets treat everyone equal and not hurt anyone's feelings. It's just with sports they feel the need to let everyone play whether their good players or not.

People don't learn dissapointment any more.

This is what happens when people feel that they have to make everyone happy. No parent wants their child to be in the "general" class if their is an advanced class.

My suggestion would be to get as many students and parents together and go to the school board and express your feelings.

Well Try taking Junior college classes but that isn't really challenging. :-( I know some teachers from various colleges have podcasts on their lectures and maybe you can even "take" a college course. A lot of the syllabus and books needed for a certain class are posted on line so you can buy the textbook and do the assigned reading and homework but then it gets rid of interacting with other people :-(. Your new principal really sucks haha sorry maybe find a tutor? I wish I could help more but it looks like you have to learn these things yourself at your own pace. I'm not sure how your classes are split up(I had drivers ed in freshman year) so I can't help you on where you should be. Ask your teachers(the good ones) what you can do because this is worrying you. They might be more helpful since they know the rules etc
