Can you walk me through this math problem please?

Well you have to do the same thing to each side, but you alwyas do the opposite of what it is (i.e if its addition you subtract, if its multipication you divide, etc) . I'll give it a shot.

2x^2 = 7 - x

First, add 'x' to each side. . .

2x^2 = 7 - x

+x +x

and then it equals 3x^2= 7

3x^2= 7.....But you always have to have something on each side. So the 7 should stay.

3x^2= 7. . .3x^2= 9x, so that makes it easier. So now you have

9x=7. . .i think you have to divide each side by nine now

9x=7

/9 /9 (/9 meaning divided by 9)

so then, on the first side your left with x and on the last side you have .77

So you end up with

x=.77

Im pretty sure thats right, but im positive the first answerer didnt know what she was talking about :|

OK! SO THE FIRST STEP WOULD BE 2*2= 4

BUT THE EQUATION SAYS ITS SEVEN!

SO THE NEXT STEP WOULD BE WHAT IS 7-4=3

SO THERE FOR X=3

AND IF YOU PLU IT IN YOU WILL GET

2*2=7-3!

WHICH MAKES ITS TRUE!!
