Do you want to lose weight? Long stretches of exercise burn fat for energy so iexercises your body to store fat for the next session, so it has fuel for next time. Not good! I'd recommend interval training
For interval training sprint hard out or if you have bad knees go on the cycle bike and cycle hard out for thirty seconds and then rest for 30-60 seconds. Complete rest, not as in walk slowly or cycle slowly i mean as in sit on the floor and stretch your muscles or something. Repeat this six times. I know, hard to believe you only end up doing 3 minutes of excercise but that's the beauty of it.
Because you place intense stress on your muscles in that short time it signals your body to develop muscles for the next session so you can work harder for next time with your new muscles, rather than store fat for fuel. Now that your body knows that it doesn't need to store fat, you will lose it!
Follow it up by some weight training and you should notice some definite results within 4 weeks. Don't over do it though, make sure you have some days off for your body to repair itself otherwise you'll create medical problems fr yourself.
I lost 3 kilos in one month. Just make sure you don't excercise (as in cardio) for more than 17 minutes at a time because that is when your boddy starts burning fat (which means it will signal fat storage to replace fat being burnt). And by hard out i don't mean straining muscles and killing yourself. Just go at a fast pace that suits you.
Good luck!

How soon is your holiday?
Drink plenty of water. Dont be scred of lfting weights. It is a myth that you will put on loads of muscle. Everyone tones their muscles before you build muscle so lift some weight to define your muscle, cut out rubbish food (especially avoid carbs after 6pm - rice, pasta, bread, potato) drink plenty of water. Cardio will also help to lose excess body fat.
So basically:
1- Water
2-CArdio
3-Loft some weight
4-Eat sensible.

Lift lift lift. Usually FLAB is "loose skin" which is really just skin with a layer of fat under it. If you lift, (and push yourself a bit) you're not going to get defined muscles (if you're a woman) but you WILL see that flab start to diminish, as your muscles get larger and the fat layer gets smaller. If you don't lift, you'll lose muscle, and make a smaller, flabbier version of yourself.

Well, I do lot of cardio. Running and walking on the treadmill. Swimming is a good workout as well to tone up your legs.
