Do you think the brewers would have still gotten Sabathia if Gallardo wasnt injured?

Hm, that's an interesting question. I never thought about it like that.
Well, Gallardo was off to an incredible start; 3-0 with an ERA under 2. If he would've continued that kind of pace, he probably would've been a top Cy Young Candidate. The Brewers only traded for CC because our SP sucked, and that's obviously working out.
No, I honestly don't think they would've even been interested, but could you imagine? CC, Sheets, and Yo. Incredible....

Yes, if they needed the boost that they needed when they got cc
Picture the brewers rotations with gallardo (who may still return)
1. Sabathia 2. Sheets 3. Parra 4. Gallardo 5. Suppan

no but I am glad it worked out the way it did because we got LaPorta and Sabathia was going to walk as a free agent anyways. We did better than a couple of unproved #1 draft picks.

I say yes because they needed an ace pitcher and Sabathia was the guy they needed. I think now that they got him. It boosted their team's potential to make the playoffs.

No. When they made the move they were in 3rd place behind St. Louis. With him they probably would have been in 2nd place. While you can never have too much pitching, they probably would have addressed their other pressing needs...like the fact that they have no true lead off hitter or third baseman. They probably would have gone after a bat and a relief pitcher.
