"The war is a task from God" is about the same as words of those who justified?

--the murder of untold unfortunates during the Spanish Inquisition

--invading South America and murder of natives who would not swear allegiance to God.

--carrying out the Crusades and murdering untold numbers of Muslims

--gave poison to followers of Jim Jones in South America

--murder, torture, and expulsion of Mormons out of Illinois

--conducted the Salem witch trials

--attacking the World Trade Center

--bombing the trains in Spain

--setting off bombs in London

--erasing Israel from the world

--kidnapping of the Iranian embassy staff

Feel free to add your own.

Update:

My apology for not phrasing this in the form of a question. The point is that people who claim to be acting on the basis of God's instructions are to be feared. That may be, In part, because if you rely on God, logic would lead to a different action.

I'm sorry if this is interpreted as a "hateful" rant. I've not used the words "hate" nor "shame" nor any other derogatory term.

All this reminds me of Harry Truman's quote during the '48 election when the media asked about his supporter's cry, "Give 'em hell, Harry." He said, "I'm telling the truth, and they think it's hell."

At bottom, it seems to me it's a good thing to pray to God about a decision but one always rely on even more heavily on whether the proposed action follows or violates the great commandment--to love others as yourself. Attacking a country that has not attacked you doesn't comply with that.

If attacking the World Trade Center was a task from God, then that means humans can't be blamed, meaning God was the one who attacked. "No, but humans were the ones who attacked!" Yes, but if it was God's test, that would be mean he was manipulating the humans in the airplanes. That takes away free will.

God doesn't test anybody with these things. It's strictly human. Do I believe God is all-loving? Yes, but I can't see it in the stuff happening here on Earth, so even I, as a Christian, remain skeptical to what God defines as "love."

The claim that these things are God's test is simply ridiculous, because that would mean God is controlling those humans. It's simply absurd.

I'm sorry, is there a question in there or is this just a hateful rant against religious people? Of course there are people who twist the religion they supposedly follow to meet their own needs, but what does this have to do with anything?

It is how radical fundamentalists talk

Palin is against the constitution, she wanted to ban books from her library for crying out loud.

    Fundamentalism is never good

Oh and to add to your list, currently in Africa Christian preachers have convinced people there that their children are "witches"

There are camps set up to take in the children who have been abused because of this, and some were even killed

Just because someone feels "divinely" compelled to do something doesn't actually mean the acts were actually divinely inspired or condoned, but I'm guessing you knew that already.

    So what's your point?
