MacIntosh /Adobe Creative Suite 3: Master Collection compatible? Workable?

A family member will be off to the last two years college in Computer Animation. I know MacIntosh computers are the "standard" for all those learning about animation. My goal is to buy Adobe Creative Suite 3: Master Collection as a gift and the person will have to buy an Apple Laptop MacIntosh computer (I have heard that it is standard in the industry to use a MacIntosh)..

My questions are:

1. Will all of the programs included in Creative Suite 3: Master Collection "fit" on a MacIntosh Laptop computer?

2. Are there different models of MacIntosh notebook computers? Is yes, what do you use or recommend?

Update:

No, I am not wealthy and plan to use a student discount plan for the software.

I am not buying the Mac Notebook...just the software.

Update 2:

Andrew: Going to the website wouldn't help, since I wouldn't be able to decipher most of the system requirements myself and would need help.

You must have a lot of money! The Master Collection is not cheap (on the other hand, you might want to find out if you could get the equivalent of a gift card or something, because as a student he or she could get the suite for about 1/3 the retail cost; contact Adobe maybe). Anyway, you are being extremely kind to do this.

Yes, the programs will all fit on a MacBook Pro, that's what they need. T be able to run the Suite comfortably, they really need the top level of the MacBook Pro, with as much RAM as it will take, and a large hard drive. To be really useful, you might want to get them an external hard drive too, with USB and FIREWIRE ports. Have a Firewire external hard drive can be vital if doing video work (Video files are LARGE and Firewire is preferred over USB because of the way it handles sending and receiving data).

Here's the page at the Apple store for the MacBook Pro. The configuration you probably want runs close to $4000; there are ways to get it a little cheaper (adding RAM later for example, Apple tends to be pricey on added RAM).

    Hope that helps.

Go to add/remove programs under control panel. Then just look for adobe creative suite 3 master collection, click remove.

    1. Yes, probably. the entire master collection is about 15GB, so make sure you have that, plus extra.

    2. Check the adobe.com website for system requirements.
