Can't find a movie I saw on TV years ago.?
There was a movie on TV called something like "Shock Waves". It was about a crazy german scientist who experimented on dead? soldiers bodies and they roamed the island. People came to the island and started getting picked off . There was a man and woman left near the end of the movie. I remember seeing a rowboat that had a glass "porthole" in the bottom. It was NOT "The Island of Dr. Moreau". I never see it on Turner Classic Movies. It was considered to be a "B" movie, but to me it was a chiller and shocker. Anyone know title and where I can find it?
1 AnswerMovies4 years agoI need a whole house gas generator installed in my back yard.?
Need the quietest generator, as it will be only 5 feet from bedroom.
Do you own a Generac or Kohler? How is the noise, performance, reliability (repairs needed) of the two?
Do I really need to purchase the on-cue computer monitoring with the system...will it really help the contractor service my generator in the future? Or is it not worth the extra money?
Opinions on above, please.

3 AnswersOther - Diseases1 decade agoNeed a LOUD alarm clock please!?
I have used 3 alarm clocks in the past, and they successfully woke me up. Now that I am getting older, I do not hear them. I've tried buying different alarm clocks (because perhaps I became used to the sound and so my brain is now ignoring them), but they are not loud enough. I would prefer an electric (digital or not) alarm because I have trouble winding clocks manually.
I have seen the alarm clocks used for the hearing impaired that use light, but it wouldn't work for me because my hands pull blankets over my eyes without me even realizing it.
Can you recommend a loud alarm clock that you have actually used?

I would like to know what the monthly payment would be for a 72-month car loan at 5.99% for the following car prices:
$11,912.35 with a warranty
and
$10,139.35 without a warranty
Also, how did you calculate the monthly figures?

1 AnswerBuying & Selling1 decade agoShould I keep the collision Insurance on my vehicle?
The car is a 2003 Toyota Camry. The loan is paid in full on it.
It costs an extra $400 a year to put collision insurance on it with a $500 deductible.
My Dad told me 30 years ago not to keep collision on a car after it is 5 years old. But times have changed.
If it were to be damaged severely, we would not readily have the funds to replace it and would be looking at clunkers (if there are any left out there)..
Since the car is more than 6 years old, it wouldn't have a resale value in the Kelly Blue Book, so I have no idea what $$ we could expect from the insurance company to buy a new car if something happened to it.
Should I maintain the collision insurance on this car? Opinions please, and the reasoning behind your answer? Thanks!
8 AnswersInsurance & Registration1 decade agoNeed Roman Catholic church in Manhattan.?
I'm standing on the corner of 23rd street and Lexington Avenue in New York.
I want to attend mass on Sunday. I know St. Patrick's Cathedral is in New York around 5th avenue, but I want a closer Roman Catholic Church to attend.
What is the nearest Roman Catholic church?
3 AnswersNew York City1 decade agoFrom the Raritan train to the 2nd train in Newark, Penn Station?
OK. We have luggage and we have successfully traveled from Raritan, NJ to Newark, Penn Station. We get off the train with the luggage. Because I am disabled (no wheelchair, but full leg brace) I cannot do stairs (did when we went in and didn't have luggage that one time last week, but my husband had to be right by me, we caused a "backup" in people traffic and I paid for it with leg cramping the next day).
We're standing there on the platform at Newark. Everyone else is walking and then going upstairs. We look around. The only thing we see is a freight elevator. We don't see any Newark Penn Station officers on the platform we are on. They are UPSTAIRS.
I need to find an elevator. I send my husband upstairs to ask a Newark train officer where the elevator is located on the platform below. He finds out. We then walk to the elevator and load on the luggage. We arrive upstairs.
Because it takes us longer than the people who walked upstairs, the train going to Penn Station has already left.
What do we do? Will another train come soon or do we have to wait a long time? And how do we know we are getting on the right train to Penn Station New York?
3 AnswersNew York City1 decade agoRoute to New York...proper terminology?
Daugher says that going to New York, we take Raritan NJ train to Penn Station, Newark, which takes us to Madison Square Garden in New York.
Taxi driver told us that we take Raritan NJ train to Newark (no name for this place in Newark), which takes us to Penn Station in New York.
What are the proper placess called?
Are there two Penn Stations, one in Newark and one in New York?
And when we arrive in New York are we at Penn Station or Madison Square Garden?
Please be very specific with the names of the places we connect at.
3 AnswersNew York City1 decade agoHow to best transport 3 heavy suitcases to Manhattan from Raritan, NJ?
Daughter is going to college in NY. Husband, myself and daughter must transport 3 heavy suitcases to Manhattan at the end of August.
We know nothing of public transportation here or in New York.
We did visit the residence hall by taking the Raritan Train into Newark, changing trains, which took us to Penn Station and we then took a taxi to the school's residence hall. We did not take a subway because we do not understand the subway system at all & because I am disabled and not good on stairs.
But I saw NO ONE with luggage on the train going from Raritan to Newark, NO ONE with luggage on the train going from Newark to Penn Station. How are the three of us going to transport 3 large suitcases via train?
I tried looking up bus routes but was very confused. A bus does go from the mall in Bridgewater to another location, where we would have to switch buses. But do those buses store luggage? The website doesn't say. (NJtransit.com). That bus would take us to 42nd street. We couldn't walk to 23rd street with those heavy cases, and I cannot maneuver the subways.
None of us are skilled enough or have nerves of steel enough to attempt to drive by car into Manhattan.
I am at a loss. What do we do? Serious recommendations, please.
4 AnswersNew York City1 decade agoGraphic Arts Degree Recommendations?
I am looking for advice from "Graphic Designers" and
"Media Arts and Graphic Designers" or anyone who has a job in Animation in the Central New Jersey area
(Somerset, Middlesex/Morris counties).
A family member will be graduating with an AA in graphic design. I am aware that an AA will get you nowhere and you need a Bachelors degree, so he is planning on continuing his education.
.
Which school (s) would you recommend to finish the degree and why? School Reputation, Academic program, instructors, internships, job placement opportunities?
Thanks
1 AnswerOther - Visual Arts1 decade agoMacIntosh /Adobe Creative Suite 3: Master Collection compatible? Workable?
A family member will be off to the last two years college in Computer Animation. I know MacIntosh computers are the "standard" for all those learning about animation. My goal is to buy Adobe Creative Suite 3: Master Collection as a gift and the person will have to buy an Apple Laptop MacIntosh computer (I have heard that it is standard in the industry to use a MacIntosh)..
My questions are:
1. Will all of the programs included in Creative Suite 3: Master Collection "fit" on a MacIntosh Laptop computer?
2. Are there different models of MacIntosh notebook computers? Is yes, what do you use or recommend?
3 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoBest slicer to use for extremely thin vegetable slices?
I make a recipe with very thin-sliced celery and carrots.
Because of health difficulties, I can no longer use my hands to get the slices very thin.
I need to buy a gadget that will do this for me.
Any suggestions? ( Please not the "Salad Shooter", the slices are too large.)
I know there are "mandolin food slicers" and other attachments to various brands of food processors that claim to slice vegetables.
1. Will either of the above give me a very thin slice?
2, Which brand have you or a friend used.. and recommend for thin slices?
2 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWill a 100 amp to to 200 amp increase electrical bill? Approx. cost for NJ?
Pardon my total ignorance. A lot of times lights flicker when my A/C clicks on or when hair dryer is being used in bedroom when washer & dryer & computer & lights are on in my 1100 sq. ft. home. And certain lights in the house "blow out" a lot more than others. An electrical plug/light combo in the basement blew out and now the light doesn't work. The house was built in 1997, so it is not that old.
. 1. If I have to upgrade to 200 amp service, will my monthly electrical bill be higher because of the upgrade?
2. Also, about how much (in central New Jersey) would it it cost (approx) to upgrade from 100 to 200 amp service? What size wire would good electrical contractor use?

3 AnswersAlternative Medicine1 decade agoNew Athlon X2 4200 processor does not work with any currently manufactured cameras?
I have an Olympus Camedia C series digital camera, which interfaced fine with my old processor.
Recently I had the motherboard upgraded with a new Athlon X2 4200 processor.
Now the computer does not recognize the camera as a peripheral hardware item.
I called Olympus customer support and could not believe my ears! They told me that the 4200 processor won't interface with any Olympus (or any other brand of) digital camera because the camera manufacturer's have not made any cameras that "go with" the Athlon 4200 X2 processor technology, and that it would be 1 to 2 years before the camera manufacturers came out with new cameras that would interface with this new processor.
It seems surreal to me that this could be true.
Can anyone out there verify it? Or dispute it with good reason & recommendation?
