Need a LOUD alarm clock please!?
I have used 3 alarm clocks in the past, and they successfully woke me up. Now that I am getting older, I do not hear them. I've tried buying different alarm clocks (because perhaps I became used to the sound and so my brain is now ignoring them), but they are not loud enough. I would prefer an electric (digital or not) alarm because I have trouble winding clocks manually.
I have seen the alarm clocks used for the hearing impaired that use light, but it wouldn't work for me because my hands pull blankets over my eyes without me even realizing it.
Can you recommend a loud alarm clock that you have actually used?

I don't think the volume will make a difference. My roommate had the most god-awful loud alarm clock which would wake me up 3 rooms away, and he still never woke up. What you need to do is put the alarm clock as far away as possible from your bed. Putting it on a night stand where you can easily hit the snooze while still in bed is not a good idea. Physically getting up out of bed to turn it off will help your body wake up. If you've tried this and it's failed, I would suggest one of those "running" or "hide and seek" alarm clocks that roll around your room, that you have to catch to turn off. Hope it helps!

Take an alarm clock and rewire the sound alarm wires to a police siren or something like that so that you'll be woken up by flashing lights rather than sound.

Try a radio alarm. You can choose a station with music you absolutely hate, and crank it up. You can then surf the dial as your tolerance level changes. I do NOT recommend classical - you never know when they'll be playing a lullabye when the alarm goes off.
