He is not elite but he has earned his spot 13th in points, and if he makes the Chase then he would earn his spot in the Chase.

Not being elite doesn't mean he is not better than Kahne or Boywer. Ragan has come a long way since last year at this time. The chase isn't about "ELITE," it's about the 12 best drivers during the first 26 races to battle it out for the championship. If Ragan gets ahead of Bowyer, then he deserves to be in the chase.

The Chase is for people having a good year. Its not a popularity contest. If Regan does better than Kahne then he deserved it because he earned it. People love the underdog. Regan would be one this year if he makes it. Bowyer was one last year.

He's worked hard to get where he is so I don't think the chase should be for elite drivers only and lot's of different people could describe "elite" in different ways to them he may be elite!

First off Bowyer is barley more elite then Ragan.

The chase does have elite drivers, Jr, Tony, Kenseth, Kyle busch and jeff gordon

as for drivers trying to make it, the one that earned it deserves to get it.. not based on populairty or past performance.

The top twelve drivers in points after twenty-six races ARE the "elite" drivers as you call them. It's their reward for being consistent for those races.

I still feel the "Chase" is a hokey thing. I won't be surprised if sponsors drop their sponsorship for some teams that don't make the chase.

If he makes it, he makes it. My definition of elite only covers 2 drivers in the chase and some that are retired. Ragan does not fall into my personal definition of elite.

If Ragan qualifies for the Chase that makes him elite no matter what you think. Just stop whining and hope your driver does better next year.

if he makes the chase it must mean he was "elite" enough to earn it, if he makes it and kahne or bowyer doesnt it just means regan did a better job and diserves to be in the chase.
