McCain - Who was the better choice for VP?

I honestly think that he should have picked Condi Rice for VP.

She's obviously more qualified than Sarah Palin.

What do you think? Why didn't he pick Condi?

I never believed that Sec. Rice was high on Sen. McCain's shortlist because of her close ties and her image as a loyalist to the very unpopular President Bush, whom Sen. McCain calculated, I believe correctly, that he must distance himself from the President as much as possible without offending the Republican base. Its a very fine line that he has to walk. Also, Sec. Rice has been widely considered to have been an ineffective Secretary of State throughout her tenure.

Because this election is less about qualifications and more about change (which is why Obama was chosen over Hillary). Picking Condi would just give credence to the claim that Bush and McCain are the same.

    Yikes!

Condi is a yes man for Bush/Cheney!

If he had picked Condi, McCain would have lost a lot of support! He *had* to distance himself from the Bush administration.

    Why would he pick Condi?

LMAO... I was at the store today and saw a man wearing a t-shirt that says, "My poodle would have been a better pick for John McCain's VP". I will be so relieved when this election is over.

Thanks a lot HILLARY CLINTON. She's the reason it's gone on so long! She wanted to start a year early. And, where is she sitting now? Oh, that's right. She's campaigning for the man she said would NOT be the right choice for President!

desperate? Your kidding, perfect? He met her as quickly as in February. SO? After assembly her (and that i'm helpful doing an in intensity learn on her checklist), she might desire to have inspired him as being a rather intelligent, able female. What does McCain being seventy two might desire to do with something? Rockefeller (D) seventy one, Kennedy (D) 76, and Byrd (D) being ninety+ does not look a topic for Dems, so what's your factor? Even Byrd, in 2007 mentioned "Age is not any barrier to provider". So she has 5 babies. She has long previous from attending her first PTA assembly to being the Governor of Alaska and he or she, her husband and her babies look dealing with issues only effective. Myself. i think of she isn't only a incredible selection, yet additionally an exciting one. The Obamites have been touting Obama because of the fact the sparkling new face of exchange. nicely, perhaps now there are 2 new sparkling faces of exchange! watching many of the responses to her being chosen, i think of the Obamites are perhaps extra desirable than a sprint fearful over McCains vice chairman p.c..!

Rice would have been good, but she carries the baggage that would have been laid on her for working in the Bush Administration.

The best they could do is hammer Palin's daughter and make fun of her handicapped child. Leftists sunk their Messiah by falling for that temptation, and it has cost them Obama's chance of getting elected.

1 - she's said on many occasions she didn't want to hold elected office.

2 - she'd give a lot of credence to the "McSame" argument.

3 - I don't think she's done a bang up job at the State Department. The Democrats would have a lot of foreign policy disappointments (Iran, Georgia, N. Korea, Middle East) to hang around her neck.

Condi Rice isn't a religious right winger...

McCain needed to placate the religious base.
