How do you feel when someone picks up your ball to see if they can recognize it being theirs?

I don't know about you but, it just chaps my hide when I can see someone walking up to my ball & still after yelling out "that's my ball" and they still pick it up and they look all around the ball, and they just drop it, and walk away from the area...

A person has every righ to identify his or her ball, but that can be accomplished without picking it up or altering the lie. Happens all the time. Welcome to golf on a public course. Just hope they dont keep it once they realize its not theirs.

Very poor etiquette. Even if someone wants just to make sure, there is no reason to pick the ball up or move it. A quick glance can confirm it, even in the rough. It is a good reminder, though, to mark your golf ball with a Sharpie to avoid any confusion.

I am nervous that they will put it in their bag and walk away with it (that happened a couple years ago in our club championship), and frustrated that so many people think they know how to play golf but are not familiar with the basic rules of etiquette. But be relieved if they drop it or leave it there anyway.

The person just wants to double check. It happenes all the time so it's no big deal.

    Have a good one...
