Whats the biggest threat to our country?
A lot of people believe it is terrorist groups, although they do pose a grave threat I believe the hardcore liberals pose the biggest threat to our freedom and way of life. If you read their posting on this site or listen to them on tv you start to see real similarities between them and terrorist organizations. They have such distorted views on how this country should be run and how we should live our lives. If you disagree with them or pose a threat to them (like Palin) they use vulgar language to express themselves, violence to promote their cause like they did at the RNC. You get the feeling they would stop at nothing if the law would let them just like a terrorist organization.

Apathy is the biggest threat to our nation and way of life.
We, as citizens of this great nation, have been too passive and naive on many fronts. We have allowed our schools, especially those of higher education, to be literally taken over by professors who preach and teach that socialism, bordering on communism, is a great form of government and way of life. In fact, we now have a generation that are of voting age that cannot think critically, logically, or for themselves for that matter. They simply follow the mantra... whatever is exciting and new.
Moreover, we have allowed our Constitution to be trampled upon by activist judges who want nothing more than to change our society through their political agendas. Indeed, this election could forever change the direction of our country... a country that has withstood many, many tests and trials and has remained one of the best nations in this world.
Furthermore, we have allowed the media to spout putrid about the United States of America and our great country, and we have not censored them for bashing on our wealth, prosperity, and individual freedoms. Our media no longer reports the news, but endeavors to sway our populace through liberal rhetoric.
In addition, we have allowed foreign nations... nations that resent our great country... to control the direction of our government through their "whining" about how unfair we are. Indeed, many, many nations that we have supported and aided are now betraying us, and instead of being grateful for the United States' help, they are trying to subvert our laws, our policies, and our way of life. Indeed, they hate us for our success.
Therefore, I believe that apathy will destroy our beloved country if we, the citizens of this wonderful nation, do not stop those that are seeking to destroy the very foundations and principles that have led to our prosperity and freedoms. Only "we the people" can truly change our direction and elect leaders who will lead us down the paths that have kept us safe, successful, and blessed for more than two hundred years. We need strong leaders who love the United States of America and actually want what is best for our people and our nation. Thus, we need John McCain and Sarah Palin.

Palin
Or worse people who didn't know her name two months ago, now want to put her in the White House because she read a speech.

Here's my contention: What good is having the best military in the world when the cost equates to financial collapse f/ within? We are our own worst enemy. I don't think we can afford the cost of war any more. One has to remember, yrs. ago war meant spoils that helped offset the cost or made it profitable. Today, the American citizens front the cost then pay the bill. This is very expensive. We don't even vote for it. We are a product of mismanagement. I suspect the terrorists don't even need to attack any more. They took the symbolic twin towers down (we didn't rebuild). As far as I can see, the terrorists are winning. The American economy has been a mess since the attack. What do you think?

I believe the biggest threat of massive deaths is nuclear weapons. The world wide and specifically the middle east has a large number of countries trying tooth and nail to be a nuclear power. Some of these countries have vowed to use them against their enemies. Thats fine with me BUT the impact of my living environment is to great to let this happen. TIME TO GO TO WAR before they get these capabilities.

Why on earth would you think that liberals are a threat? Are you threatened by people who think differently from you? Democrats did not use violence at the RNC--it was anarchists. And you are a hypocrite for saying that Democrats are a threat considering the shootings in Tennessee of liberals in a Unitarian Church. Have you EVER heard of liberals going into a church and shooting people because they were conservatives? NO! It's never happened.
You need to stop listening to hate radio and start using the common sense that God gave you.

While you may say liberals, I think the bigger problem here is entitlement. People think they are entitled to too much today. They want the government to pay for everything.
Personally I would never want the government to take money from someone who earned it. Someone worked hard for that money, and I will not pay lower taxes so the government can tax someone who has worked just as hard for what they have. Not only is it against my moral standard, but i do not agree with it economically.

The biggest threat to our nation is ignorant voters who are concentrating on "straw man" political rhetoric (like this) rather than analyzing the issues..Read the link below from the Maui News about how Karl Rove's straw man is distracting and deceiving voters from examining each candidate's position on labor relations...

George Bush was the biggest threat, and is for a little longer, IMO. And if McCain wins and turns out like him, then he'll be the biggest threat..

I think there are so many threats right now, however I tend to agree that this nanny state type of movement that is gathering steam will be a great part of our demise.
Please everyone, REALLY think about what is going on within our country!
