It is impossible to say from the information given. It would depend on what position you were in before you passed the person in second place. If you were previously in 3rd place and you are on the same lap as the 2nd place car then you would be second. If you were previously in 3rd place and a lap behind the 2nd place car then you would remain third but unlap yourself. If you are leading the race then you would stay in the lead.
