In the Bible "the beast" is wondered after, how and why?

The answer to this is in Rev. 13, starting in verse 4.

"So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, 'Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him? (he is powerful, and they are in awe of that). And he was given a mouth speaking great things (able to deceive with words) and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months.

Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blapheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in Heaven.

It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names were not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." (everyone who's name is not found in the Lamb's book of Life will take the mark of the beast, and worship him as if he were God).

Rev. 13:4-8

"Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.(someone powerful who is disguised as a religious figure-"lamb" but is actually evil-"dragon" belonging to satan) And he excercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. He performs great signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man; His number is 666." Rev. 13:11-18

The beast, who is the Antichrist and the false prophet, who is the 2nd beast, will DECEIVE many with their false signs of miracles and wonders. The Antichrist will be the most powerful person on the earth, and he will be in charge of everything, along with the false prophet. they get their powers from the dragon, who is satan, because they work for him. Many will be deceived, because the beast is going to come into the picture as one who promotes peace, and he will sign a covenant with Israel for 3 1/2 years. Then he will break that covenant and wage war on the Jews. God will hide the Jews, and the Antichrist will then come after the "offspring" which are Christians. I guess I need to stop here. Rev 13:3

3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

all the world wondered after the beast. The people of the world see the healing of one of the heads of the beast and are amazed. Of course, the people do not view the beast as a beast-that is only the metaphor John uses to convey his message. Instead, the people are amazed at the power and resilience of the king, kingdom, or philosophy that the beast symbolizes. As an analogy, suppose that communism were to be revitalized and return to worldwide power after being repudiated in the late 1980s. That would be a source of wonderment to all the world. That is only an analogy, not an interpretation of prophetic or future events, but the analogy may be instructive in helping us to see what John seems to be describing in this verse.

You can read some of the other good answers on what this means. One thing you have to remember is that John in this part of Revelation was seeing a vision. These visions are not literal but pictorial. You must go elsewhere in scripture to interpret them. I am not a bible scholar but I believe from what I have learned is that the beast is a form of rule or government. The bible says the beast came up out of the sea. The sea in the bible (in pictoral scripture) is always humanity. So the form of rule or government came up out of humanity. It is not the institution from God but is derived from our earthly ways and from the devil who is the present prince of this earth. The people will wonder after the beast because of the things that it does. I believe we are already seeing this. We worship everything earthly. Cars, sports, computers, false evolutionary teaching, space travel, rock stars, money, and even our own government. We have put the government in the wrong position even above God. Soon the government rule of this world will be conglomerated into a one world system. There will be a one world monetary system (as if there already isn't) This system will be on pure electronic transactions, because of terrorism, fraud, wars,a nd security (actually because the goal of this beast system is total world domination) everyone will be required to take a micro chip implant in order to buy or sell. This is the mark of the beast. In the old king james bible its says you will have to take a mark IN you hand or IN your forehead, not on it. So you can see this beast and beast system still more as a rule or system of order. The heads on the beast refer to actual government sectors or countries, the horns refer to the actual people in charge like kings and presidents. Also, do some research on the verichip, that is the implantable device for buying and selling that people are already taking. Remember, with the coming global crisises facing us the world will position itself more and more for this emerging beast system. The powers will converge on the middle east. Israel will be a center figure in all of this. This globalism is not an accident. The people in power of this world have been pushing for this for over 60 years. (actually hundereds but they didn't have the technology) Check out you one dollar bill. See the eye at the top of the pyramid, that is the all seeing eye of satan. It is at the top because satan resides with these people very closely, see he is not amnipresent like God is. He controles the top then the influence trickles down, hence the pyramid. The top stone is not in place yet but it is close.

There is way too much to type about here but I assure you the bible is 100% correct about this topic as it is on all others. Creation, the flood, salvation through Christ, and the endtime.

If you are not born again I urge you to reconize your sinfulness against the very Holy Nature of God. Repent of your sins and turn to Jesus Christ and believe the Gospel (good news) and be born again into God's family. The world is in the beast's family now and when the end times come that family will be done away with. If you want to be adopted into God's family - Repent and Follow Jesus!!!

P.S. You have to be very carefull about the emerging false church. Make sure the church you are in is teaching you the entire bible. Join bible study groups and disipleship groups. This knowledge will keep us from "wondering" after the beast and worshipping it. Many will be mislead.

Because the beast survives what should normally have been a lethel blow, and stands up again. This draws people's attention away from God and they start to follow the beast, and its teachings, believing that the beast will solve their problems.

Identifying The Wild Beast And Its Mark

In order to understand what or who the beast is, you must first understand what the mark of the beast is and what the seal of God is. What is a mark or seal [the bible uses them both interchangeably]? A seal has 3 parts, 1) the name of the person who is using the seal. 2) the office of that person. 3) the territory that person has jurisdiction over. So, for instance "Bush, President of the United States of America" 1)name Bush. 2)office President. 3)territory USA.

We will start with the seal of God.

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six day the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." Ex 20:8-11.

Here is found the seal of God! Verse 11: For in six days the LORD (name) made (created: creator: office) heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is (territory), ...

Now the mark of the beast: "Q.--- Have you any other way of proving that the [Catholic] Church has power to institute festivals of precept? A.--- had she not such power ... she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday , the first day of the week for Saturday, the seventh day, a change for which there is no scriptural authority."--- Doctrinal Catechism, P. 174 [Roman Catholic]. "If Protestants would follow the Bible, they should worship God on the Sabbath Day. In keeping the Sunday they are following a law of the Catholic Church." Albert Smith, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, replying for the Cardinal, in a letter dated February 10, 1920.

So; the Seal of God is the fourth commandment --- Saturday as the day of worship, and the Mark of the beast is Sunday as the day of worship.

Count the number of the beast; for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. 666. In Latin [on the miter that the pope wears is written] Vicarius Filii Dei which when translated means Vicar of the son of god. "The method of reading, generally adopted, is that known as the GHEMATRIA of the Rabbins, which assigns each letter of a name its usual numerical value, and gives the sum of such numbers as the equivalent of the name." Marvin R. Vincent, D.D., Word Studies in the New Testament, Comment on Revelation 13:18. In the Three languages that were used in the letter nailed to the Cross are these; Latin, Greek and Hebrew. Vicarius Filii Dei translated into all three languages equals 666 in each!

"Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change [ of the Sabbath to Sunday] was her act ... AND THE ACT IS A MARK of her ecclesiastical authority in religious things." From the office of Cardinal Gibbons, through Chancellor H.F.Thomas, November 11, 1895.

The Mark of the beast: 1) name RCC. 2) office change of the sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. 3) territory the world.

So; the RCC is the beast and wondering after her is the observance of RCC laws, which of course includes the keeping of Sunday instead of Saturday.

Making an image to the beast? That is the making of a Sunday law! Where? Right here in the USA! We are the lamb like beast with two horns that roars like the Dragon! I nearly forgot to add: The wounding of the beast happened in 1798 when the pope was taken prisoner by the French. It was healed by Mussolini in 1929!

The beast is the antichrist. He will sway people by lying and doing some miracles. People will claim that he is Jesus. He will deceive a lot of people.
