Degradation of History Section: rename it Homework Section?

Has anyone noticed how this section has become merely a homework help line? Nothing original, little worth discussing, assuming one can get through the atrocious spelling, questions that could be answered either by reading the school book or a quick net search. I used to read this section frequently but now it is a waste of time.

Why don't those who need homework help go to the YA section for Homework?

I agree 100%. Once I see a question begin with "compare and contrast" I know it's just a homework assignment and the person asking the question is probably sitting around watching TV waiting for others to do their homework for them. If they were asking for help with their homework it might not be so bad but they want others to do it for them.

What grates is when they simply cut & paste the question, including the question number - so you get a question like

"1. Compare and contrast the Battles of Lexington and Gettysburg?"

I also don't like it when an answerer simply dumps a load of wikipedia as an answer.

Ho - hum, guess there isn't a lot we can do about it though.

Same thing over in the Programming and Design section.

Maybe we could blend it in to a new category along with those

who keep asking for "free photoshop" and "school proxies".

Couldn't agree with you more - sign of the times, I guess.

People seem to have forgotten how to learn.
