Vacation to Napa Valley or Chicago?
I am planning a trip with my girlfriends next year. Both Napa Valley and Chicago are on our list, which one should we do first? Please only respond if you've actually been to both places. Help us decide! (We're traveling from Cleveland)

What time of the year are you going to take this trip. Napa is best during September when they are having their wine festival, otherwise they are an expensive tourist trap. The Napa Valley used to be something truly romantic, heart-felt and nostalgic but in the last few years it has started to become very commercial. The wine festival however has till maintained it's old-country charm to it. Other things in the same area at this time of year include the Lodi Grape Festival, If you are willing to make the 3 hour drive you have the Reno Hot-Air Balloon Races and if you go up HWY 50 Apple Hill is an absolute must!
Chicago is a breathing city of many different cultures and sights but depending on what you are going there for, time of the year also plays a part in this area. I recommend Chicago in the Late Spring or Early Summer as it is way too cold for me in the Winter. There you will absolutely have to get yourself a foot-long hot dog and a beer at Wrigley Field. If you go to Chicago and pass up this opportunity, you will regret it forever.
Which one you do first total depends upon when you are going. Look at what I have written above and use it as a guide to plan both trips.

I am a travel agent and I've been to both places. personally, Chicago was the best between the two for me. I love to party and enjoy an exciting night scene. There was some much to do there. Nappa Valley was more like a relaxation trip with subtle club scenes. But nonetheless both are enjoyable.
If you havent already done so, I have a website where you can book your trip at a great price. www.astarrisborn.traverustravelnetwork.com
