Anyone happy an American (Serena) won in the final?

I'm actually glad she won not because she's an American but because she is Serena. I root for her not because of where she comes from but yes it's very nice that an American won.

I'm very very VERY happy that we finally have a deserving world number one! I'm proud of Serena for making it. She's DEFINITELY the best female player right now and she deserved the title! The way she jumped and jumped and JUMPED when she won made it pretty clear how much this victory meant to her. She's amazing and I'm a HUGE fan!

Well sure why not she deserved this title more than any one, What Roddick is a very limited player he would need lsome luck(upsets a kind draw or injuriy to a top player) if he is 2 win another major, and Blake has never been chship material.

She deserved her victory. She played so well. Both her and her sister are liked kids in candy stores when they win. I love watching them celebrate. Serena is always so humble after she wins as well. She conducts herself so well on camera, and I love her nervous little giggle she does. I saw her on Regis and Kelle yesterday, and she conducted herself like such a lady, which she is, despite what ignorant people have to say about her.

Absolutely and she is # 1 as well. Her emotion after winning was heartwarming. Never seen her quite so happy.

I too, am totally ecstatic. When she was hopping around, I was hopping around too. She deserves every opportunity to be and stay No.1!
