Palin Bans Library Books - Is this true?

Why did the Obama campaign publish this? Apparently AFTER Palin moved on from Mayor to Governor, someone else had a list of books to be removed, but it wasn't Sarah Palin.

So who fell for this democrat party nonsense?

Another example of a story too good to check out. And Obama's crowd is also promoting the idea that Jesus was a community Organizer and that Pontius Pilate was a gpvenor. Is this supposed to cast Sarah Palin as some sort of evil governor?

The democrats are desperate, but go ahead, answer the question, did Palin Ban Books or not? Let's see how gullible you are to these pro-Obama slurs.

Update:

To the Gullible believers -- name a book she wanted to ban? Produce a scintilla of evidence that she named any book?

Is she allowed as mayor to ASK about library policy?

And at the library, are there ANY standards regarding what the library will purchase for the library? Would a subscription to Hustler magazine be a good use of township funds for the library?

You liberals are so eager to believe negative remarks about Palin that no amount of common sense or research will change your views. You WANT to believe, and HOPE it's true. That's really sad, and to think you folks have the right to vote. Amazing, democracy depends on informed voters, not a bunch of childish left-wing lunatics who believe everything published by the Obama supporters. Grow up.

I wasn't aware of this allegedly happening. However, I think such righteous rants as yours demean librarians, Democrats, liberals, and even Gov. Palin. You are obviously an ill-informed person to assume that all liberals support Sen. Obama. I know many moderates who are in his camp. As for your ignorant raving about "a bunch of childish left-wing lunatics" all I can ask is what about the pouting that went on these past 8 years when our President was denied his whims? Your statements beg someone to bring up that tired old argument that he created a war mentality to avenge his daddy's defeat. Temper your remarks because someone a whole lot smarter than you will put you in your place.

I generally dislike answering political questions, but when anyone puts a question out here like yours then the more rational of us have to come to the defense of our beliefs.

She didn't specifically ask for certain books to be banned-she did however put the question to the town's librarian of whether or not she (the librarian) would have any problems in removing books from the library's shelves if asked to do so. The librarian stated that she most definitely would have a problem in doing so. Apparently this same question was put to the librarian two more times by the mayor. The same librarian also received a letter from the mayor shortly after these questions asking her to resign. The newspaper the Kansas City Star has a very good article regarding this whole manner. Here's the link: http://www.kansascity.com/445/story/783721.html

P.S. In my own personal opinion it seems like a rather odd question for a new mayor to ask the town's librarian, the part about removing books. It would seem that a new mayor would have more important things on his/her mind than asking about the possibility of removing books from the public library.

It is not true that Palin asked for specific books to be banned from the Wasilla library, but she did raise the issue with the head librarian.

The point behind the community organizer thing--which I don't think came out of Obama's campaign--is that Palin's characterization of community organizers as somehow being without value is off-base. The C.O. vs. Governor comparison means very little--by demeaning C.O.s, she was demeaning the man whose disciple she is.

At first, I thought Gov. Palin was just a pretty woman, however, I changed my mind after hearing her vicious remarks at the RNC. After that, I realized that Senator McCain had picked a great running mate. She complements him very well.

There are several things that bother me about her though. First, I think the firing of her brother-in-law was as mean spirited as anything I've heard about in State politics. Second, her endorsement and familiarity of the Alaska Independence Party is unfathomable for someone in national politics. Third, I have the impression that Gov Palin was more interested in elevating her own ego as Governor, that she "forgot" about passing on values to her daughter.

Finally, however, she does have one good quality, and that is her objection to abortion. In fact, I do not understand how the Democrats ended up on the wrong side of this most important issue. She will win many votes on this issue alone.

For me though, the one good quality is not enough to outweigh the negatives about her. I think this will be a very close election. May the best candidate win. May America unite behind the winning ticket. May God continue to bless America!

Sarah Palin consulted a lawyer to see if some material which is inappropriate for children may be removed from public library, what exactly is wrong with that?

Children SHOULD be protected from exposure to pornography, violence and racism. Would you let them read offensive materials like this all in the name of "free speech"? Not all censorship is bad.

This opinion by the way is shared by 76% of Americans!

Time Magazine reported this one (Time is not a liberal journal, but in fact one of America's most respected news sources). She did not ban books, but she attempted to and threatened the librarian for not giving "full support to the mayor". Here is the article and you can make

    up your own mind:

I'm not a Republican, but I will say in your defense, that it is out Sarah Palin's authority to ban books. Libraries don't have to listen to her. There's no way she did it.

A slight correction (from my point of view): She was demeaning the man whose disciple she claims to be.
