As you said, McCain only cares about the top 1%. Obama's tax plan reduces taxes for 95% of families, or as some say 83%+ of Americans. Obama will only raise taxes for the rich. Taxing the rich 10% brings much more money than taxing the poorer 90% so they can spend the extra money to pay debts off.

McCain is a liar. He said in the Obama Celebrity ad that Obama has a electricity tax. Which is a complete lie.

1) When it says that Obama voted "to raise taxes on people making just $42,000," that was on a non-binding budget resolution vote that didn't actually raise or lower taxes. From Factcheck.org: "The resolution does not contain a specific provision to raise tax rates, but rather assumes that most of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts expire as scheduled in 2011."

2) According to Obama's economic plan, he would raise taxes only on those making more than $250,000 per year, and would provide tax cuts to those making less than that. Factcheck.org: "Obama has stated repeatedly that his plan would increase taxes only for those making more than $250,000 per year."

The Washington Post did a comparison between their proposed tax plans and it can be found on their website.

As far as the comparison goes, Obama plans to greatly increase taxes for the richest 1% of Americans, proposing increases as high as $700,000. McCain proposes his biggest tax break for the richest 1%, and greatly decreases the tax breaks as he descends down the chain. However, Obama's tax cut does appear beneficial to the majority, and equalizes if not becomes more beneficial than McCain's at the upper-middle class level, and definitely gives a greater tax break for the middle and lower classes.

As far as other comments, claiming that Obama would increase social programs, I would point out that one of the biggest/arguably most wasteful social programs, military and defense, would be continued by McCain, costing Americans trillions more.

Because he is going to raise taxes on the other 5% so he can give it to the other 95%.

It is called income redistribution and it is one step closer to Marxism.

Also, most small businesses are chapter "S" corps and their taxes are filed as individual returns. Therefore, the plan also hurts small business.

Why is it that Liberals are OK with stealing money from people to give it to other people? Is it OK to steal from the poor and give it to the rich? Of course not!!! Then why is there this Double Standard?

No. On the contrary I think there would be no double standard if everyone paid the same percentage of taxes. The double (or triple, quadruple...)standard exists already with our progressive tax system.

I am in favor of a flat tax or a fair sales tax.

Obama's plan will attempt to legislate economic equality instead of free market fairness. I tend to believe that one job may not be as valuable as another job. A doctor's work is far more valuable than a strawberry picker because the strawberry picker is more replaceable. I think that fairness means that people earn the monetary value of their work. It means that people get what they deserve, not everyone gets the same.

It is not the job of the government to decide to eliminate fairness in favor of economic equality. The rich don't deserve a higher tax rate, and the progressive tax should be canned.

Last, for the record, I am not by any means even remotely wealthy. But you don't have to be rich to recognize that they are being abused.

If lightening really struck liars, a lot of politicians would be electrocuted. Unless the President's job has become dictator, no matter which one is elected, they are helpless to change anything. That includes raising or lowering taxes. They can only ask the Congress for the bills and then they can approve them or veto them. I'm sorry that you believe all the campaign promises, but a quarterback can't win a game without the rest of the team backing him.

Because there are enough "low information voters", especially on here, that they believe anything they hear on Fox.

The only reason for a tax increase would be because of having to find a way to pay off our deficit from the war.

Obamas like all liberals is wild on promises but will be short on delivery. This is an old liberal promise *cut taxes for the middle class*, however just like all liberals he has a vast amount of social programs he wants to enact. And in the end the same group always ends up paying for it. And even if he cuts taxes on the middle class and raises taxes on people making 250 or more the middle class will still feel it. Prices will just rise to compensate for the higher taxes...and we will go on and on nothing really changing.

When he said that at the RNC, he was talking to a crowd of elitists wearing $2,000 suits, that make over $250K per year.

Why a small town person thinks he's was talking to them is something I haven't figured out yet.
