What is your favorite Shakespeare Sonnet?

Mine is # 130

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun,

Coral is far more red than her lips' red.

If snow be white, why then her breast are dun,

If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.

I have seen roses damasked, red and white,

But no such roses see I in her cheeks.

And in some perfumes is there more delight

Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.

I love to hear her speak, yet well I know

That music hath a far more pleasing sound..

I grant I never saw a goddess go,

My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground.

And ye, by Heaven, I think my love as rare

As any she belied with false compare.

    Sonnet # 73

That time of year thou mayst in me behold

When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang

Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,

Bare ruin'd choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.

In me thou seest the twilight of such day

As after sunset fadeth in the west,

Which by and by black night doth take away,

Death's second self, that seals up all in rest.

In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire

That on the ashes of his youth doth lie,

As the death-bed whereon it must expire

Consumed with that which it was nourish'd by.

This thou perceivest, which makes thy love more strong,

To love that well which thou must leave ere long.

    - the sense of reduction is amazingly captured and expressed. Images are deployed with the skill and talent of a master artist.

My thunder was stolen by Ari. #73 is also my favorite. It illicits an incredible sense of nostalgia in me. No fair, that's never anybody else's favorite. :(
