This one has no ideas as to what "history" tomes you might have been scanning but "Christians" did not destroy the Greek culture.

Long before there were such persons who denoted themselves as Christians, the Roman Empire had gained complete and undisputed control of the Mediterranean world. In so doing, the Romans assumed into their own eclectic culture whatever part of the other cultures they desired and left the rest to do as it pleased. Most of the vanquished assumed Roman culture, manners and ways adopting the lifestyle of the victors.

King Herod of Judea did such changing the royal court practices of Judea, building seaports in the style and manner of the Romans, etc.

In the end, the Romans did away not only with the Greek culture but with the other existing cultures as well as they slowly sank into an immoral cesspool of corruption and decadence that lead to their disunity as a nation and a people and their won destruction.

Christianity played only a minor part in the same as Christianity was corrupted by Roman, specifically the Emperor Constantine and the Council of Nicea in 345 A.D. or C.E. , if you prefer the more recent denotation of the era.

Please, prior to posting, attempt to get your facts "straight" or correct.

I believe you are meaning the Hellenic culture.

The Christians did not per say destroy the Hellenic culture. They merely destroyed the temples and the Mysteries which served a great part of Greek social life and with it the other parts of society unravelled.

However it is not destroyed my friend .. those of us who follow the Hellenic spirit and have a Hellenic education and love the Gods of Hellas are keeper of the culture. The culture survives in us.

As a Hellenic I do not like the idea that the culture is destroyed .. it is merely hidden.

If you are truly interested in learning Hellenic culture, Hellenic philosophy, Hellenic religion, and to adore the Hellenic Gods etc..the following forums has a strong Hellenic community.

    3. www.neosalexandria.org ( Cosmopolitan in that we have a lot of Romans and Kemetics as well )

They both saw it as a threat and had stolen many ideas from it. They undertook a systematic program of eliminating all records of the culture, burning books and wiping out libraries. Greek learning was only preserved by Islamic scholars in Islamic universities. The actions of Christians gave us the Dark Ages, caused immense suffering and set back both social and scientific/medical progress by at least 1500 years.
