In their system everyone works, no life time welfare, unless your disabled
you have to take a job if it's available, and everyone pays taxes on their ability...can he bring us to this?
Seems like all of Europe is wanting Obama
to win, while they are losing corporations faster
than us, and looking at reducing corporate taxes
while they are already lower than ours, and we have state taxes on top of that...
Im happy to see that the Majority here understand
Does anyone here realize that 1/3 of the households in the US dont pay ANY income tax?
Equality for all....So no one wins, no one loses
You grow a garden while your neighbor watches
when you harvest he comes over and says he's ready for his half.....whats the reward for work, sooner or later everyone becomes the watcher

Obviously you've never been to Europe. They have a huge unemployment rate and way too much taxes hidden everywhere.
Do you know how much a gallon of gas costs in Europe?
A lot of people don't have enough money to afford a car...

It's idiotic to think that we do not pay more taxes and are receiving less benefits than most Europeans.
They may have an onerous income tax but that covers their entire contribution to the Govt.
By the time we pay Income tax AND buy health insurance (that the euros don't buy cause they are covered) we have pretty much caught up.
so lets see.
THEM: Income tax, Vat Tax
US: Federal Income Tax, State income tax (not me I'm in TEXAS) Sales tax, property Tax, Automobile registration (a tax) Health insurance (a self assumed tax because the Govt. does not provide health care...like many europeans get) Gas Tax, Sin tax (cigarettes, alcohol, etc....) and many, many more
Our Govt. does not tax like others but they sure have their hands in our pockets. I'd rather pay one tax, pay less tax and receive full health, retirement benefits like the scandinavian countries
Source(s): only an idiot would think that the support we get from the US Govt. is worth the sudry taxes we are forced to cough up. - 1 decade ago
I have always been an advocate for getting rid of wellfare and promoting job placement programs. However no... obama actually wants to double the wellfare taxes.

No. yet possibly his words in a foreign country will help them to start viewing our leaders and rational and able to humility extremely than as smug cowboys. heavily, the way you modern-day your self could nicely be only as significant as your deportment. undergo in recommendations Roosevelt? communicate softly and carry an excellent stick? we are able now to ease up on the stick formerly it snaps from overuse and start up speaking softly for a whilst.

Yes, he can...
But guess what? That's not a good thing. At All.
If you like Europe so much, then move there. I'm guessing you'll want to when McCain wins anyway :)
- BooyaLv 41 decade ago
No McCain and Obama are on course to keep us going in the direction of big government debt. get ready its gonna get fun when countries like China and Russia want some of the BILLIONS that they have loaned us back. OOPS! oh well, another great HOPE will come around in about for years to give us a nice distraction to argue about....

We're America and should not want to be like everyone in Europe. Whatever happened to being unique?
- VaughnLv 61 decade ago
Oh, I doubt Obama wants to do that, although anyone with intelligence should look at other peoples' systems to see what works and what doesn't. Nope, Obama wants to make us more like the America we can be and should be, instead of the one that we got distracted into during the Bush presidency.
If we could put a man on the moon, we can make health care more affordable.

I don't want to be more like Europe, I want to be like America, that's what we fought for from the beginning, when our ancestors left Europe.
- CatrinaLv 41 decade ago
why...the US does not need to be like Europe .the economy never sleeps. our new President will CHANGE our economic status in the US. thats a concern that we all should want.
