TV Programme from the 80's ( UK ONLY ) - NOT KNIGHTMARE !?

I am trying to remember a kids TV programme very similar in many ways to Knightmare but was on later in the afternoon or early evening.

I am almost sure that it was supposed to be set on a space station type thing and they had to work as pairs to amass a type of points system to win stuff. the end game culminated in a game of Chess type of thing against a Plant.

Maybe a bit vague but someone might remember

    It was the Adventure Game.

    The game at the end was called The Vortex.

    I used to love Mr. Benn, it exchange into purely so exciting a week seeing what adventures that he might desire to stand as much as yet I additionally enjoyed Rolf's comedian strip club with Rolf Harris and the main reason I enjoyed that coach exchange into Rolf Harris himself- he's the main intereting guy truly as quickly as you're seven!!
