check engine light on for transmission?

my transmission is not engaging any of the gears it stays in neutral all the time and the check engine light is on and the overdrive light blinks. can it be an electrical problem, i shorted out the dome light and radio fuses the day my tranny stopped working...relay maybe?

    Maybe. Especially if the radio, dome light, and overdrive function share the same fuse.

    But, if you have to ask, take it into a shop.
