Is it worth it to get a PSP?
Should I pay the money for a PSP and some games? I have enough for it, I'm just wondering if it's worth the price (solely based on the gaming).

As the holiday season fast approaches, Sony is set to launch a new bundle pack for its PSP hand held. The pack will be released this month and is called the PSP Entertainment Bundle. The pack will contain a black version of the PSP, the game ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin' Trails, the UMD movie Lords of Dogtown, and a 1 GB memory stick. All this for just US$249.99, which improves on last year when you could get the PSP Value Pack for the same price :)ava06

It always depends on the player and the types of games they enjoy playing.
But with the PSP, I'm going to have to say No, it isn't worth it. Although it might seem like a good idea, what with the new model of PSP coming out and all, it likely isn't the best investment.
Why?
Many of the games on the PSP are multi-platform games that are stripped down to be playable on the PSP, which almost never work out. There are few PSP exclusive games, such as Loco Roco, Grand Theft Auto( Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories), God of War: Chains of Olympus, and Silent Hill: Origins. Though, are these games console (Or in this case, portable) sellers? I would hardly say so. I own a few PSP exclusive titles, and had I realized how few of them there were, I would have just invested more into my current consoles.
There is also the option of installing custom firmware on to your PSP (Though at this time, there is no indication that these updates will work on the upcoming model.)
This will allow you to install unsigned applications onto your PSP, such as emulators of older consoles (NES, SNES, Genesis, GB, GBA.), and other handy applications as well. Keep in mind that this practice is not endorsed by Sony in any way, and if by chance you do not know what you are doing and damage your PSP software, Sony will not be there to help you.
Hope my opinion helps your decision.
