Having Trouble with Excel?
Ok, I admit I am limited in my computer knowledge so this may be a silly question with an easy fix. I've got an excel spreadsheet that I've been working on. Now, after days of working on it, I am not able to type in any of the cells! I tried starting a new spreadsheet with no luck there either. Any advice on what the heck is wrong? Thanks!

I had this happen before however I am having issues trying to recreate the problem...go figure lol
Anyway I believe it had to do with one of the locks on the keyboard being off and should be on or vice versa. Or you accidentally locked the cells. Go to tools/protection to unlock cells.
Have you tried rebooting?

If it was only one sheet affected it could be that you have chosen to protect the sheet. It would be worthwhile checking this anyway. "Tools---protection " if you see unprotect sheet then click it because you have turned on protection. The same for unprotect workbook. If you want to protect areas of the spread sheet then highlight the cells you want people to have access to right click properties and in the protection tab un click lock. Then when you set the Protect sheet they will be able to select only the cells you have chosen.
However this does not explain why a new sheet is locked, so I am sorry you may have a different problem

Sounds like you may have protected the worksheet by mistake.
Open your excel file and choose "Tools | Protection | Protect sheet" from the drop-down menu.
Uncheck the "Locked Cells" option.

I suggest you to choose "Detect & Repair" option from "Help" Menu.
If it's still trobling you. Then re-install Ms Office.
