Would we be better off spending the $10 Billion per month now spent on the war on other issues? ?

Presently we are spending $10 Billion each month on wars. Do you think this money might be better spent on issues with which we are presently facing? What would be your suggestion? Where would you like to see the money spent (pro or con) --- Explain

Definately on other issues that matter. The economy is suffering bad, people are dying from floods and what not. The american people need it more. If this war continues to rage on, america is gonna find itself in debt and you can blame bush for that

If we don't spend it fighting terror on the other side of the globe... the terrorists will come back here and we'll have a war on US soil. I'm fairly certain that would cost more than $10 billion a month if you include destruction to land and property here. After the commemoration of 9/11 yesterday, I find it hard to believe that anyone thinks it is not money well spent.

Recent poll shows 81% of Americans believe the war on terror is more important or just as important as it was 7 years ago. Only 18% think it's less important.

Sure it would be nice to have that to help with education or healthcare but our safety should be priorty.

Had a fraction of that money been spent on educating the middle eastern youth, they wouldn't turn to terrorism. Win, win. I'm not proposing the idea, though.

This country has a better chance of controlling you if your poor, thats why there is a war on the middle class, losing their homes, bankruptcies etc, its the Rich's way of leveling the playing field again, and its been done in the past.

If we didn't spend money and time to destroy Al-Queda, we wouldn't have to worry about other issues other than how to learn to speak Arabic.............. if they let us live.

War is ugly. I wish it were all over and done with. But it's not and we must adjust.

If we pull out of Iraq, the fanatic Muslims and Al-Queda will simply "follow us home," only to force us to fight them here, on our homeland. They have sworn to kill each and every one of us.

God Bless the United States of America, our President, and all of our Military Personell stationed around the World.

We should get out of Iraq immediately or make the Iraquis pay for our presence. I think we need to beef up our presence in Afghanistan (I do love these unmanned drones that can target specific individuals).

No. The security of our nation and the security of the middle east is crucial. Bailing out people or funding more ridiculous social programs is pointless. We can fight in the middle east or we can fight on our own soil.

Definitely. What does violence solve? Nothing. We should focus on our own country before trying to fortify others.
