Why cells can only reach a small size?

Y are cells small? because the only way for a cell absorb nutrient or expel waste is threw the membrane. as a cell grows the ratio of surface area (membrane) and volume of the cells grow are to large for a pace that the membrane cant absorb enough to keep the cell alive

cell are all about suffice area per unit. if you have a large cube of sugar it would dissolve slower because less of it actually touches the liquid but if you just pore in granulated sugar it'll dissolve much much faster as more of it touches the liquid.

cells that the same idea. they need to get nutrients and their able to supply it to the rest of their bodies quicker with as much surface contact as possible
