How can I create a Excel dashboard that allows users to select metrics and dynamically reposition charts?
I have an Excel 2003 dashboard with a tab wherein users select specific metrics that they wish to track using checkboxes. The selected metrics then get displayed on a Data Input tab which allows the user to input values for the metrics. Based on the input provided, the tool draws charts on another tab. In the present version of the tool, I have hard-coded the position of each chart since we had fixed number and order of metrics.
However, when we allow users to select metrics they wish to track, we require dynamic repositioning of charts. (For example, if I don’t select the first four metrics, the charting page should begin with the chart for the fifth metric rather than four blank charts.)
any ideas how to do that?

Charts have Top. Left, Width, and Height attributes that can be used to reposition and resize them from macros.
ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("Chart 1").Top = 5
would move the first chart created (and left with its default name) to very near the top of the Excel worksheet window.
You can find out where the charts are now by looking at the values of those attributes.
