OF COURSE WE DIDN'T KNOW! WHY DIDN'T WE KNOW? YOUR NEWS MEDIA REFUSES TO TELL THIS!

Instead of reflecting our love for our country, we get photos of flag burnings, incidents at Abu Ghraib

and people throwing things at the presidential motorcades.

Tragically, the lack of accentuating the positive in Iraq serves three major purposes of the liberal news media:

1. It is intended to undermine the world's perception of the United States, thus minimizing consequent support;

2. It is intended to discourage American citizens and erode their support for the war.

3. It is intended to help the Democratic Party gain more power in the next elections.

    Thank You So Much For Posting This!!

    These are the sort of things I hear from my husband. This is why I continue to support our troops and everything they are doing over there. This is why, even though my husband has been gone for 24 out of the last 36 months, I don't want to see a complete withdrawl of our troops which all of the democrats and liberals want to see. They are doing GREAT things over there. They are truly helping these people have the sort of life everyone should be allowed to have, and I couldn't be more proud to be an american and an army wife. HOOAH!

    Cochran, THANK YOU for pointing out the positive!!!

    Sadly, we live in a society where, despite the original good intent of allowing freedom of the press (to try to make sure the facts were available to all), our media now depends upon the same thing that all entertainment does - the almighty dollar, and therefore ratings. Let's face it - good news doesn't sell (much). Controversy, conflict, strife, scandal, "drama" - the same factors that keep shows and magazines "interesting" to the public cause media viewers to tune in as well. And the media is in business, like everyone else, to make money. This is not to say that everyone in the media is a slave to the dollar; but, you'd have a very hard time convincing me the executives who make the calls on what airs and what doesn't are unaffected by the "bottom line..."

    Want to change what you see, America? Demand it - with your dollars (and your choice of what you watch.) Stay glued to the drama, however, and that's what you'll continue to see... (Let's see, do I want to see that story about kids getting educated, or if a certain pop star went out without her undies again...hmm...)

    Remember, America - with Rights come Responsibilities; if you deny your responsibilities, do you really deserve your rights?
