1. It is intended to undermine the world's perception of the United States, thus minimizing consequent support;
2. It is intended to discourage American citizens and erode their support for the war.
3. It is intended to help the Democratic Party gain more power in the next elections.

I just learned about an hour ago that a dear friend died while doing something he loved to do. He was knocked unconscious by some rocks and drowned.
I feel empty inside all of a sudden! I'm never going to surf with my friend Sammy again.
I feel like crying....people here at work who knew him are all crying.
