Feeling less kicks now - 26 weeks?

I'm feeling less kicks now. I'm not feeling the baby less - I'm just not getting full out kicks. I am getting more rolling and I've gotten some jabbing in the ribs (how nice of him).

Is it because it's getting more cramped for him in there?

I was at the doctor 2 days ago and I'm measuring 26cm so I know that's all well.

Update:

Oh yeah. I mean sometimes he rolls so much I don't think I could count that high!

His movements are just different now.

Update 2:

Baby Joel! ME TOO! The person who sits next to me watches my shirt because it looks like there are earthquakes in there if he does get in some kicks. Even his rolls look like the ocean.

It's very possible that his lighter movements are due to his position. Don't worry, the full out kicks will be back!

If you start to feel less movement, lay down on your back with an empty pie pan or paper plate on your belly and you'll see movements that you can't even feel.

    Congrats!

Yes, this is normal. As the baby gets larger, there will be less room for him in there, and you'll feel more gentle pokes, roles, squirms, etc, and not so many jabs and kicks. I'm 34 weeks and our little guy is already measuring 7 lbs -- he's HUGE and I'm ready to have my body back so I can sleep at night! :-)

You are exactly right, he's getting to big to be doing flips and aerobics, anymore. All of the books say that you should eat a meal and lay down and count their movements and as long as you feel 10 movements in an hour, the baby is fine.

I've been feeling less kicks lately, but a lot more rolls and movements.

I'm assumed it's what you said, less room.

However, when he does kick, my whole tummy moves. It's so crazy to watch! Lol.

Whoever happens to be sitting next to me in a lecture hall at college is always fixated on my stomach.

  • lol that's what happened to me and i totally got worried. Don't worry baby is just getting bigger lol only in a great while will she give a kick lol... and that's only when she feels like it. I feel her more rolling and a little bit of jabs lol so for me it was completely normal.

yes its very normal I'm 32 weeks and when I was about 28 weeks I hardly felt my girl kick at all and about a week or two later she started back up again but with a bang It feels like she's doing somersaults in me.... it's a real joy. Good luck and congratulations!

It's just less room for the baby to move around. As long as you're feeling something, you should be fine. Good luck!

  • He usually moves at night/dawn while I'm at work (night shift). He's very active.. I can even notice my belly bounce or move left to right because he's just so restless. There are times when he's also calm.. I guess babies have their moods too.. Lol.

The baby dont have as much room to kick any more so it rolls and tumbles and does anything it can to get comfortable!

oh that's normal. Some days you'll feel less kicks some days you'll have more.

you should have around 10 movements a day (you'll be able to feel them alot more when you're closer to your due date!)
