I work for Walgreen's as a Sims Coordinator and i'm 35 weeks pregnant and I pick up heavy things all the time. Its all in knowing what your body can handle.

Like sleepie, I work for Walgreens as an assistant manager. I unloaded trucks until I was probably 32 weeks pregnant. Granted, I didn't lift the really heavy stuff, but I still did a bit of heavy lifting.
When I was pregnant with my first, my OB encouraged me to work. She said it was okay for me to lift up to 50 pounds, not repeatedly though. I worked the day I went into labor. Same with the second.
Listen to your body. It will tell you if you are overdoing it.

I personally think it is a very bad idea. They don't recommend you to lift more than 20-25 lbs during pregnancy. Less than that if you are high risk.

Everyone is different. they say not more then 20-25lbs. but if it hurts don't lift it!!!! and you'll know when it hurts. i worked at home depot and after 10 weeks i couldn't lift the 5 gal. paint bucket. so just be careful and listen to your body.

keep your job and lift what you feel you can lift. it's really hard to find a job while pregnant so stick in there.
good luck
ask your doctor.

it really depends on the mother. lifting heavy weight can cause the sack to tear from the uterus if strained too much. if you're not high risk, id say it is okay. talk to your gyn about it! congrats
