Problem 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport.?

The issue I have Is the my girl friends Jeep driver side floor board and some of the driver side backseat floor board is damp keeps getting wet. I sprayed a hose around the driver door to check the weather stripping and it seemed to stay dry, I also sprayed water by the where the wipers are, still nothing, I checked to see if the floorboard has rust and it seems to be solid. If you guys have any ideas I would appreciate it. And by the way it seems to only happen when its wet outside. It doesn't matter if it is raining or not just wet being wet outside seems enough to get the floor board wet. Thanks for any advice.

The evap drain as mentioned is a possible culprit. Also likely is that you have a rubber grommet that has come lose or deteriorated on the firewall...put a bright light on under the hood on the drivers side. Then stick your head under the drivers side dash (head right next to the brake pedal) and look up toward the underside of the dash onto the fire wall. See any light shining through? If so - You are getting water splashed in from there.

Another possiblity - There is a channel between the windshield and the hood...where the wipers connect to the motors. The plastic peice that covers that area is perforated for drainage. There is a deep channel under it that runs the entire width of the jeep. It has a drain at one end. It could be clogged, and as such, filled with water - which is now finding an alternate drain into the jeep.

    Good Luck!

my wifes 2001 had a leaky evaporator drain. you can see it under the hood on the fire wall low near the starter make sure when the a/c is on that the water created by the ac drains out side the car . hers came out of the drain but leaked back in so we put a L shaped hose to allow the water to drain away from the body. if thats not the answer try looking for a wind noise - water leak specialist, we have one local called ultamate auto seal. ask your dealership who they use, good luck!
