    No, but not making the same mistake over and over again is a better place to start.

    forgiveness: absolutely. forgive others and yourself.

    as for selflessness: this is a very evolved spiritual state that most of us have quite a ways to go yet to reach... simple empathy and compassion for others will in themselves do wonders for your relationships, your own growth and wisdom, and your peace of mind. :)
