Is anything as good as Front Line Plus but a fraction of the price?

The cheapest I see is about 40 dollars for a 3 month supply for a little dog. Plus we have 2 cats. Twelve dollars a treatment seems like highway robbery. Is there any other product that is as good? I have tried Zodiac and it is definitely not.

Two thoughts, shop around for a cheaper price on the frontline,I get a six pack of frontline plus for about$58.Or ask your vet about buying the med for a large dog and splitting the dose with a tb or insulin syringe.

The ingredient used in Front Line is patented and this is why it is so expensive. No other company at this time is allowed to use the ingredient in their product.

However, there are other products that will work well, just in a different manner.

Any product containing "permethrins" will kill the fleas, but not the eggs they lay. The flea will have to bite the dog in order to ingest the product. So the biggest difference between the two products is that the once I mention here will take a little longer to eliminate fleas on your pet and in your household.

Try "Cutters" product. You can get it at a Fleet Farm type store. Approx. $5 for a 3 tube (3 month) supply. I have used it in the past with great success. We had fleas last year and absolutely none this year.

I buy my Frontline at Sam's Club - a discount store owned by WalMart - I got a 6 month supply for $40. Try to find a friend who has a card you can borrow, they never check your ID to see if it matches the name.

I wouldn't trsut anything over the counter -- some, such as BioSpot have been known to cause seizures.

You get what you pay for - so, I think it's worth it to spend the mula!
