Are some of you guys like this?

I just need some reassurance with this. I am 16 years old and was just diagnosed with (Schizoaffective disorder or bipolar disorder with ultradian cycling and psychosis) a week ago. Do any of you have this terrible disease? I feel like I am alone , but the medication is helping there is hope out there I just have to find it. How have you or your family members delt with this? Any information I could use to help my family? Can you be a docter if you are Schizoaffective? is it normal for it to get worse as it comes on in your body?

Many many many geniuses have mental disorders and many doctors are incredibly smart. I would definitely not give up on being a doctor just because of a diagnosis in your teen years. Puberty is crazy crazy stuff which does all kinds of crazy things to your hormones and your moods. You have plenty of opportunities to get better as you get older. My best advice to you is to be completely HONEST with your doctor, stay positive and focused, and DON'T DO DRUGS! By drugs, I mean mostly the kind of drugs of the amphetamine nature (cocaine, crack, meth, any uppers). They will only make your symptoms worse and it wont be fun for anyone. You should, however, take your prescriptions from your doctor, and be sure to give him/her plenty of feedback on how you are feeling. It may take a while to find a medication that is right for you. Good luck!
