Why McCain??????????

I really don't understand why anyone would vote for McCain/Palin.

McCain is basically Bush. If you zoom out here for a second and note that republicans have been in charge for the last 8 years and it's thier tax / spending policies that have gotten us into this mess, why ON EARTH would you want to vote them back in???

And Palin is just Dick Cheney w/ lipstick. Acutally, she's not as smart. If anyone saw that charlie gibson interview, you'd be completely out of your mind to think this woman could do the job as VP when she clearly does not know anything about policies or national security.

Wake up people! Why vote republican? They created this!

McCain used to be a moderate who earned the "maverick" image. Now, however, he is pandering to the far right in order to win. I believe he has placed his interest in becoming president above the interests of the country in a way he wouldn't have 20 years ago. It's sad, really.

Alex (above): look up McCain's voting records of the past. He has gotten almost in lockstep in the current Congress.

Rage (below): check the records: McCain has missed more votes in this Congress than Obama. It's public record: why are you afraid to do the research?

The first question would be : How enthralled are you with the idea of living in a gulag ! Secondly, you are wrong about the Republicans being in charge when we have had a do nothing democratic Congress in charge for the last two years.

Charlie Gibson is the idiot here. How inept can a reporter be? Some people really should retire ! The question Gibson asked were pretty mindless, yet Palin did good.

I will vote Republican and I will cancel your vote. Nothing could change my mind. The Obama/Biden/Clinton ticket is just plain stupid, if for no other reason, the least qualified is the one with his name on the ticket, first. He still has on training wheels, yet people are willing to gamble that this upstart can put it all together. No thanks ! I'll put my money on the tried and tested ole salt, now there's a man who has it together ! Vote for McCain 08 !

Obama. McCain is a guy without plan, different than to maintain the status quo and supply the wealthy yet another tax-shrink! And Palin as vice president? 70% of united statesa. thinks she isn't qualified! and don't provide me the Bachelor degree 5 college mayor of a city of seven,000 who has on no account considered Russia, or she would be attentive to that the actually situation you will locate is an Island is greater advantageous qualified than Obama. people who stay on the Island which could see it don't have working water or sanitary centers to apply! some governor! she will't even get the endorsement of her very own newspaper!

Well, we HAVE had a republican president for the last eight years, but congress has been controlled by the Dems the last term. If you want to criticize Bush on the war, that's fair...but to be honest the president has very little to do with the economy. This is a free market system. The only govenment control over the economy is through legislation...ie congress. So if you want to get up in arms over how bad things are fiscally, point your finger 180 degrees to the left.

Don't blame this on republicans. They're not all bad, just like democrats aren't all good. Blame the current president. Not to say McCain would be a good one, but don't blame the whole party. And democrats were "in charge" for the 8 years before the republicans. That's not a long time in the white house.

I'm with Roadkill and alex. The media is too busy kissing Obama's but and not checking the facts. Palin is 200x more qualified than Obama. If you watch Jay Leno, David Letterman, MSNBC, CNN, and/or ABC they almost never say anything against Obama. BTW the Communist party and the Democratic party agree 95% of the time. 95%!!!

you are preaching to the choir, my dear. the only reason i want mccain/palin to win is so i can see tina fey's impression of sarah palin for at least 4 years...other than that, you are right on all counts, and if the republicans hold themselves to be the moral and religious authority, it was very hypocritical of them to elect mccain, a known adulterer. and do you really want a hockey mom to be just a heartbeat away from becoming the leader of the free world???

I don`t understand ether, McCain had years to be a Maverick reformer and stop Bush`s economic policies to help the housing and banking market and he did nothing but vote with Bush 90% of the time.

Obama has no experience on anything. When we judge a politician, we shouldn't judge him/her by his/her speech, but by what he/she accomplished. Did Obama make any changes in his own state as a State Senator for 8 yeas? If not, why should people believe he's going to make changes in the whole country?

    1. Barack Obama’s foreign policy is dangerous, naïve, and betrays a profound misreading of history

    2. Barack Obama’s Iraq policy will hand al-Qaeda a victory and undercut our entire position in the Middle East, while at the same time put a huge source of oil in the hands of terrorists.

    3. Barack Obama has sent mixed, confusing, and inconsistent messages on his policy toward Israel.

    4. While his Mideast policy may have been the quickest turnaround or flip-flop on a major issue, it is not the only one. In the primary campaign, Barack Obama consistently campaigned against NAFTA, but has now changed his tune, as he has with other issues.

    5. Barack Obama’s judgment about personal and professional affiliations is more than troubling.

    6. Obama is simply out of step with how terrorists should be handled; he would turn back the clock on how we fight terrorism, using the failed strategy of the 1990s as opposed to the post-9/11 strategy that has kept us safe.

    7. Barack Obama’s economic policies would hurt the economy.

    8. Barack Obama opposes drilling on and offshore to reduce gas and oil prices.

    9. Barack Obama is to the left of Hillary Clinton and NARAL on the issue of life

    10. Barack Obama is actually to the left of every member of the U.S. Senate.

Do a little research before you make such a statement, you obviously know nothing about. Vote for your "rockstar" who is promising you the moon.
