Snow Chains for Rent - Yosemite?

I will be travelling to Yosemite in January. The Park Service warns that it is possible that they mat require cars to carry chains. Are there outlets that rent snow chains in the Yosemite region? I will be driving in from San Francisco.

Update:

Thanks for the answers. Chain rental works well in Australia as an adjunct to other snow related businesses. An available business niche? Or maybe a sell and buy back scheme.

You have to buy them, they are not available to rent. But they are available at most service stations in the Sierra.

You probably get by fine renting just a four wheel drive vehicle. We did that when going up to Mt Hood in Oregon. As far as Yosemite goes, all the roads that are open at that time of year don't require chains very often at all, but the others aren't even open till around May or June. I have been to Yosemite in the winter with 4 wheel drive and never used it. So I'd take a chance of just doing the 4 wheel drive thing. The only time you need more then 4 wheel drive is in a blizzard and you don't want to be out in that anyway. The signs may say chains required, but usually 4 wheel drive is OK.

the last town you drive thru before yosemite is mariposa( last town that consists of more than a post office,,,i should say) there are several places to buy the chains you need there. the shell station on your left as you first enter the town is one. i recommend the 7/11 stage stop also on the left but a few blocks further down. both places always have the chains...and prices are reasonable. if you wish to get the chains before you hit mariposa stop in oakhurst...every gas station has them. enjoy your trip n be safe!
