DSL/AVG Help Needed Please?
Twenty four hours ago I finally was able to get DSL from Quest, my local phone company. I was told by the Quest tech who did the installation I had to do some MS Updates, which I did, the main one being Service Pk 3. After the update my AVG E Mail scanner would not Update! All other AVG components are active. I could not make the scanner work so I removed the AVG program from my computer and re- downloaded it. Same results! Contacted Quest Tech Dept. --- "Worthless". Was told to contact Microsoft -- "Worthless". Language problems in both cases. Any ideas please? I'm using Windows XP
What does it mean to "Reinstall from local PC?" I Did uninstall AVG! Reread what I asked.

Try these things...
1. Remove AVG, reboot PC, Download Free AVG and Reinstall from the local PC. Don't install it off the web. Run all updates to bring AVG to current.
2. If you prefer not to remove AVG, then try to reinstall but select "Repair" from the installation options and then again run all the updates.
If none of these work then download a utility called Dial a Fix and run it before and after you perform step 1.
At this stage, you should be able to update successfully.
