What is the advantage of fresh spiritual ideas and techniques and not being stuck in those from the past?

Fresh ideas in any arena, not just spiritual, allow for the evolution of humanity and man-kinds thinking. If we always stuck to tradition we would still be in broken tribal society's with inventions no more stunning than pointy rock, and sharp stick.

Now we are in fractured nations with inventions that are great and awesome, like nuclear weapon, and bioweapon.

There is nothing new under the sun..... Fresh has to do with perception. Many ancient beliefs have been given new twists because of the advancement of technology and common knowledge, but if you break it all down all of these "fresh spiritual ideas" are just repackaged old ones.

Basically ideas should evolve over time, as we learn more. Those that do not are either facts, or in danger of becoming outdated.

Thus fresh spiritual idea should lead to spiritual progress.

You live your own life, live in the Mystery. Of course the masses will dislike you but they are not free, bound to concepts such as oneness they are confused when they are twirled around and left behind.
