  • Does anyone worry that nuclear fusion could use all our water supply?

As society advances, energy needs expand - this is always true.

Currently scientists always seem to say that nuclear fusion would give us unlimited energy, which is simply not true - eventually we would run out of matter to fuse.

Obviously we would be using hydrogen initially, which makes up water. I guess current energy use would mean it would last a very long time - giving us enough time to mine water from other planets.

What if with the advent of nuclear fusion, developing countries became modernized with this new energy source, and the worlds energy use grew at an exponential rate, until we had the next crisis on our hands - running out of water?

  • How would you like your remains to be disposed?

I'd like to know how you'd like your physical body to be disposed of, and what is your religious belief.

Personally, I'd prefer it if my body could be dumped in the garbage (unfortunately it's illegal).

    I'm an atheist.

  • Christians: Is it wrong to have sex with a married man?

I know a lady who has sex with multiple people (not at the same time), just for fun, and even married men. She was previously married, though not anymore. Yet she also calls herself a christian and goes to church.

I personally have no problem with this, but are there any christians who think this is ok?

  • What is a Unitarian Universalists beliefs?

I was reading about their beliefs on beliefnet:

    http://www.beliefnet.com/Faiths/2001/06/What-Unita...

And it seems to me to simply be lumping a whole lot of different beliefs under one umbrella. Why do such people consider themselves the same "religion" (if it can be called that)?

  • Drugs/alcohol and enlightenment?

Do you believe that some drugs (namely hallucinogens) or alcohol can be used to achieve greater spiritual awareness or even enlightenment, by relaxing your inhibitions?

Could they even allow for spiritual experiences, such as OBEs?

Shamanistic cultures have/had these beliefs (eg native americans)...do they have merit?

  • If a god like being appeared before you and told you your beliefs were wrong, what would you do?

If they could also demonstrate god like abilities such as omnipresence and omnipotence would that change your original answer?

  • Why do Christians claim that their religion is not a religion?

They always claim it is a relationship with God.

The definition of religion is that there is a "set of tenets and practices", which is what the bible sets out.

Would it not be more correct to state that it is a religion, which includes a relationship with God?

Here is the wiki definition of religion for you:

  • Why do people always insist you can't love 2 people at once?

I've seen a number of questions where people have said they think they love 2 people, or something to that effect.

Every time that happens, there are a load of people saying that it's not possible, that they don't love either, or it's just infatuation.

Yet we happily accept that a person can love their husband and child at the same time, or 2 children. Why is it that loving 2 people romantically is not possible?

I'm not looking for people to give me answers citing morality, as that doesn't prove it's not possible, it just goes to right/wrong.

I have at one time loved 2 people romantically, and it was a confusing time. Does anyone else have a similar experience to share?

  • Was I used by my friend?

I have a friend who I got along with quite well. We used to go out often, but frequently they would pay for the drinks or meals, and not let me. Every now and then they would remind me I don't pay my way, but never let me do so! About 6 months ago, a business opportunity came along, and they needed me to be involved for my technical knowledge/abilities - basically there would be no deal without me.

I got involved, but they then put a lot of pressure on me while placing restrictions on how I could work. In the end, I had to get out or suffer a breakdown. The deal fell apart, and I haven't spoken to them since. I do feel bad about letting them down, but can't help feeling they bought me meals as a retainer for this opportunity.
