A Roe v Wade conundrum?
If Roe v Wade were overturned tomorrow and abortion made illegal again across all 50 states, what would be the fallout?
Considering that there were 1.4 million abortions in the US last year and that there have been an estimated 48 million since 1973 how would the United States have cope with this additional population?
Many of this number would be below the poverty line and would require government welfare for health care and food.
In the USA I have noticed that the word socialism seems to be a bit taboo so what would be the appropriate solutions put into place to provide for this additional population which over a period of a few decades could and would add substantially to the US population.
What are some of the proposed solutions?

Please - to all - this is not a R v W debate regarding the merits or detractions of the judgment. I'm purposefully not stating my position on the matter and don't try to guess it from the question itself. Please answer the question with intelligent answers. Any flaming or insulting answers to myself or others will be reported.
I apologize for not fully understanding the Roe v Wade decision so perhaps this question is faulty.

You are making a GIANT leap of faith in saying all 50 states would make abortion illegal. In fact, if Roe v. Wade was overturned, the people of each state would decide what the law would be in their own states. I assure you not all 50 would make it illegal. I am fairly sure it would remain legal in the majority of states in some form. The solutions would be proposed with the laws presented. All in all it would be a much more effective and unifying process than the problem we have now.

Your question is faulty. The reversal of Roe v Wade would NOT make abortion illegal across the country, but it would return the matter to individual states to make their own laws on the subject.
As far as reducing unwanted pregnancies, either birth control or more self-control are the answers. How you would do that would be up to ones own morals.

Roe v Wade isn't going to be overturned - the Supreme Court has already ruled that the time to appeal the decision has long since passed.
It is what is called, "settled law", which means it will be the law going forward.
So your question is entirely hypothetical.

If Roe V. Wade were over turned,
Abortion wouldn't be illegal anywhere in the US.
It would just allow the States, to determine their own laws, concerning abortion.

Republicans always claim overturning Roe won't start us on a path of outlawing abortion. If that's true why is McCain's key strategy for outlawing abortion a plan to seat more conservatives on the Supreme Court?
You would likely see a rise of more constitutional law cases aiming for the Supreme Court to revisit the issue.

You are assuming that many of those women wouldn't think, oh my goodness maybe I should take a pill once a day, and then I won't have to have an abortion, or maybe I won't have sex unprotected when I don't want to have a baby. Wouldn't that make so much more sense then state sponsored abortions?

Crime rates and prison populations would explode even above what we have now. as all the kids that don't get aborted will be raised in situations where they will most likely end up criminals.

Either we would be finding dead babies in trash cans every where, or these dumb women would wise up and stop having unprotected sex with every man under the sun.
