Why didn't they make a Starskyand Hutch film re uniting the original cast ?

Perhaps coming out of retirement for one last case. Or as Bernie Hamilton has passed away perhaps Captain Dobie being killed would have made a good story to get Glaser and Soul reprising their roles.
