Follow up question to smell in the pantry.?

I read that if you leave an opened cup of baking soda in the pantry it will "soak" up the smell. How long does it take to "soak" up the smell?

It'd be good to leave a box of baking soda in there all the time, just to absorb excess odors. I believe a box lasts for like 60-90 days.

I think a day or 2. It works well in the fridge and freezer too. The arm and hammer makes boxes with "flow through" vents to prevent spills.

Try a piece of charcoal, great for absorbing odours.
