What are some natural ways to prevent/cure group B strep without antibiotics?
I'm trying to prevent if possible, not anywhere close to when they test for it yet. Antibiotics are not a possibility for me so I'm trying to do whatever I can to make that a non-issue by not testing positive in the first place.
Please don't answer if your only answer is "there's nothing you can do" or "you have to have the antibiotics." The American Pregnancy Association website mentioned naturopathic/holistic remedies but failed to mention what they were...so I at least know they exist.
I'm allergic to almost all antibiotics (the only ones I CAN have are not effective against group B strep) and I'm doing a homebirth so I can't have an IV anyway. And since I'm not about to do trial and error with antibiotics to see if I'll have an anaphylactic reaction while I'm pregnant, they truly are not an option.
"tidgie," I already freaking told you the hospital can't do anything anyway because I'm allergic to everything the hospital does to treat it. I'm looking for NATURAL ways to PREVENT and if you don't have an actual suggestion then I suggest you don't answer my question.
Sorry, yeah, I do have a temper because I've asked this three times and gotten nothing but dumbass answers that don't even attempt to answer the question that was asked. However I've gotten at least ONE decent one below, so thanks for that.
I'll also add I have a midwife, not a doctor, and group B strep is not strep throat.

I am 31 years old and have had severe Yeast Infection for over 8 years. https://tr.im/CureForYeastInfection
Note that:
If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment. If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

Music enables you to eat more. According to a work by the journal Psychology as well as Marketing, soft, classical tunes encourage that you take time over your meal, so you consume more foods. So, switch off – silence will always make you more aware of what you’re investing in your mouth.

Put a two litre water bottle plus a glass on your desk each morning. Get through it by means of lunch, and do the same inside afternoon. You’ll exercise better as well as recover faster if you’re hydrated. I drink some water when someone asks me a stupid question or sends a dumb email... find something that works for you!

Be blue! Weirdly, azure shades have been proven to experience a positive effect on your will probably to exercise regularly and resist bad foods. So, wear orange, eat from blue plates watching the pounds drop off!

I hope you dont jump down my throat for this, but because strep B is a bacteria, there really isn't any way to get rid of it without an antibiotic. It's not something you can "wash out" to prevent or treat. The reason the pregnancy association website doesn't list the procedures is because they dont work! The holistic approaches may have you trying or trusting something in vain because they wont work. Since you are allergic to antibiotics, I would suggest waiting until you find out if you are postiive or not (no sense in stressing out about a moot issue) If you are positive, then it may be in the baby's best interest to be born in the hospital, you may not be able to treated, but your baby can recieve treatment immediately following birth.

I'm alergic to most antibiotics too, however the one they gave me was especially designed for people like us. I'm sorry I can't help with any natural remedies

I would call your dr's nurse asap. Ask her what she would recommend you to do and then ask her what happens when strep isn't treated appropriately.
Strep throat can lead to rheumatic fever, kidney problems, ear infections, tonsillectomy and several other complications. I wonder, too, what impact it might have on your body. I suspect it could be worse for the baby than a proper cure.
Whatever you decide to do, good luck.
