I'm atheist: I don't believe in gods because there's no evidence that any exist.

    Presumpt writes

"An agnostic believes in the possibility of God, but just doesn't know for sure. A much more respectable position than those who have eliminated all possibility of a creator because they have chosen to bow down to the religion of science and darwinism."

Nonsense. An atheist is someone who doesn't believe that there are any gods because there is no evidence for any. That's the most intellectually honest, respectable position one can take.

It's closed-minded to say "I don't believe in the Easter Bunny because there's no evidence, but I'm not willing to say that I don't believe in God, despite the fact that there's no evidence for his existence either". Atheism is, in fact, the most open-minded position on the question.

This "bow to the religion of science and darwinism" nonsense is just something that religious believers say because they can't come up with any honest way to defend their beliefs.

Agnostic is a very broad term.

I call myself an 'agnostic atheist'

I accept that there is a small possibility that there may be a god/ goddess/ gods, although there is no reason that I have ever seen, in ANY religion to believe that.

Yep, I don't believe in anything without solid evidence. Technically an agnostic person doesn't know, without proof. There may or may not be a god but I cannot make a claim without evidence.

I don't believe in any Gods. However, I consider myself a rather pedantic agnostic because the question is ultimately unanswerable.

We know that God is not going to bow down to us and provide proof of His existence. So to demand proof is the same as rejecting Him.

But could we not just seek Him, even not knowing for sure whether He exists or not? That is all He asks of us, "seek and ye shall find".

An agnostic believes in the possibility of God, but just doesn't know for sure. A much more respectable position than those who have eliminated all possibility of a creator because they have chosen to bow down to the religion of science and darwinism. Some would call that "close minded".

I don't like to believe in labeling myself or anyone for their beliefs. But if I were to label myself I would say yes. I don't like to be selfish and say "God does not exist" because it's just too damn hard to prove that, just as it's too damn hard to prove that he does. I think religeons have all contributed in blurring the way we can explain what god really is (if he existed) and therefore they've created Athiest who just don't buy what they say. I believe that in a universe this big and the unknown being a massive percentage, I can (and should) leave room for believing in anything really! even if it's hard for me to comprehend it here on this little spot in this universe.

Actually.... if you don't believe in god... with or without proof... you are an atheist.

An agnostic is a person who believes that the existence of God, or lack thereof cannot be known until death.

Wouldn't that actually make you an agnostic atheist per definition?

As long as you don't believe in any other deities either, I mean..
