Is the democrats excuse for their congress causing the current economic crisis valid? ?

Democrats, please explain this to me. I need to know. I searched it on the internet and could not find the answer. The excuse I keep hearing about your messed up congress is that Bush is vetoing all their great bills they are sending to him. Could you tell me the exact bill Bush vetoed that would have prevented the current economic crisis? I looked for it and was not able to find it. Could you please tell me what that exact bill is so I can believe that your excuse for the worst congress ever is valid?

You can Blame Bill Clinton for it, and a congress of 1999

Glass-Steagall Act of 1933 was designed to prevent the kinds of speculative conflicts of interests that pervaded Wall Street in the 1920s and helped bring about the Great Depression (and reappeared in the 1990s).

In 1999, the law banning brokerages and banks from marrying one another — the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933 — was REPEALED , and voila, the financial supermarket has grown to be the places we know as Citigroup, UBS, Deutsche Bank, et al. But now that banks seemingly have stumbled over their bad mortgages, it’s worth asking whether the fallout would be wreaking so much havoc on the rest of the financial markets had Glass-Steagall been kept in place.

Democrats are only good at throwing blame on the Republicans

I am a life long Democrat and I am tire of guys like Kennedy being

a bull chit artist who is just telling us its the GOP fault when they

had control of congress and just sat aroudn P*ssing and Moaning

and thowing the blame on Bush...bush is kind of a goofy guy but

he represents some good things too..don't throw the man out cause

he is a dumb azz but a lot of presidents could not talk and walk..

I don't think the Democrats could have got a worse Candidate

you do the math..60 to 70 % of the voters are not black or a minority?

were in the sanity in making McCain and Palin look stupid?

people just see the crap the Democrats are throwing and will rally

to the McSame ticket..but do what you want

the Democrats shoud have been a shoe in but their failed policies

and empty rhetoric is only good for the 18 to 29 year old voters

and that is why Obama is losing (slightly(*() in the polls

If he was going to win he would be doing far better now as the

Republicans can steal the votes needed in the states that will

determine the next POTUS..I feels bad for the Democrats but it is there

own stupid fault..they must have thrown this election.if they can't get

elected now when the country is in the toilet and a war that is so

unpopular..when can the Democrats win?..it is a sad story

four more years of McBush and the Democrats..are losing badly

Keep in mind, if Congress has a good bill come to the President, he won't veto it.

Also, remember, the economy we are seeing now, is a direct reflection of the great economic policy of Bill Clinton... NAFTA, calling for the requirements of getting a home loan to be eased... Putting millions of Americans into homes they couldn't afford.

bush has the lowest veto record in history.

www.thomas.gov thats the governments library of congress.

Bush vetoes a total of 6 bills in 8 years

in 2 years, congress has vetoed him though 17 times.

the library of congress doesnt lie, its just a database.

There are only 49 democrats in the senate, which is not enough to overcome a filibuster. This means that democrats can't even bring a bill up to a vote unless republicans approve it. They can't pass a bill to send it to the president unless republicans approve it. Republicans still have control over the legislature.

People often say there are 51 dems in the senate but that includes 2 independents and is thus a falsehood.

I see no one has come up with an exact bill

if one is to argue a point than produce some evidence

stop slamming the president and blaming him

although that is easier than coming up with evidence that he is to blame for everything

I'd be interested in learning about his as well, please someone provide some good evidence here. Last I checked, the past two years have been the worse economy wise, and the last two years the Democrats have controlled congress.
